I was just looking around at bikes in case I my Fuji Nevada 1.5 29er won't quite suite being built on and came across this bike. I searched and found a couple threads that were rather inconclusive except for the fact a motor does fit in the frame. Those 3" wide tires are sweet as well.

Looking at this bike though I am curious if anyone has ever thought of pressure testing the upper tube to see if its sealed completely. I would think if that were the case you could drill and tap a gas lid into the top of it and use it as an intergrated gas tank. Then install a fuel petcock near the base of the arch towards the rear wheel. Not to mention the fenders look pretty awesome on this bike.

I like the concept of a Cruiser/MTB Frankenstein, maybe putting a nice set of forks on the front so it serves a dual purpose. Or it could make a clean bobber style bike as well.

So anyone have an input or opinions?

That it is a beautiful bike for sure with nice lines. Motor would complement it too.
Someone on here should have experience with it and will chime in. Looks like everyone has used the barnacle tank.
Some have built HS 4 strokes into it and some 2 strokes, some ebike conversion. Offsetting the mount for gas engine to clear the wide tires will be a must I would think.
Here is a photo album of one built with lots of nice Picts. I know people have converted Felt bike frame tubes into gas tanks for years, do not know if anyone has attempted other than KC to check on the top tube volume, he said would only hold 2 cups of fluid so not worth it. He did a super nice build on the Modena and will no doubt have more info for you. This will get you started reading.
