Hi, haven't been here in a while but I built a bike I thought I'd share.

It's a hybrid of a cruiser and a mountain/utility bike. It has the fenders, bars, sprung seat, and chrome of a classic cruiser but the suspension (RST pneumatic forks) brakes (linear-pull) rack (Bell bike rack) and 5-speed transmission of a mountain bike. It has a digital speedo/odo. It also has a prominent rear reflector and LED headlight for night riding, and a small left-side mirror for passing. It has suicide shifters (ie take your hand off the bars to shift.

Mostly built from junked parts from other bikes, the only thing new in store was the cables. Had to do the standard brush, wash, clean, reassemble and paint routine on all the parts. Turned out fairly well though, the five-speed shifts well and the front brake is good enough to lift the rear wheel in the air easily.

Partslist:

Frame: Schwinn Sidewinder 2006
Forks: RST pneumatic
Bars: Chrome cruisers
Crank: Shimano
Front Wheel: China 26" 5/8
Rear Wheel: China 26" 3/8
Transmission: Falcon cassette, friction shift
Seat: Sprung vinyl
Brakes: single front linear pull rim brakes
Controls: right lever front brake, suicide shifters
Road gear: rack, headlight, mirror, speedo/odo
