Re: performance mods for honda 50

Give us a little more info, DW. We don't know if you mean a Honda cub motor (like the Z-50) or a GX50.

https://www.affordablegokarts.com/49cc-high-flow-air-filter.php note << this is based on the HS 50 carb which i think is a little different but will bolt up to the honda gxh-50

https://www.affordablegokarts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=MTRBK49 < here are some parts again i'm not sure about things like cams if the ones in this link will work on the honda as the honda has a governor limit rpm (of which can be removed)

anything can have performance mods done no matter what some people will say
things like port matching intakes, removing any casting flash left in the intake an exhaust ports do in fact help the engine breathe better just don't go over board

if you take to the engines ports (intake an exhaust) with a dremel (to clean up casting flash etc) REMEMBER to flush the ports out an make sure the valves are closed!!!
hold the engine so the port you are cleaning is facing the ground an use wd-40 or
the likes of to spray up into the port don't be shy on how much you use all metal flakes
need to be removed!!

i use an old 12v fuel pump with a kerosene bath an hold the out let hose up the intake
(this setup is my homemade degreaser washer the bath is made from a 20liter drum)

note the port clean up (removal of casting flash if any) won't net you an bunch of horse power it just heaps the engine breathe same goes for the port matching of intake manifold an exhaust
