SoCal Motor Bicycle Racing Rules.

Safety gear is the most important, you must have all the gear to ride
or race on the track.

Alcohol consumption is not permitted by any rider during the race.

On Saturday Race day at 6am there will be someone at the gate with waivers and wristbands.

Any Friday arrivals that camped overnight and did not sign a waiver and get a wristband on
Friday please go to the gate to sign in when you wake up on Saturday morning.

All riders and spectators must print and sign their name on the waiver, then have a wristband
placed on their wrist until they leave the event.

Riders and Spectators wristbands are different colors and insurance is paid on all wristbands
issued.
Only Riders can ride on the track.
Spectators must upgrade their waiver and wristband to ride on the track.

EVERYONE at SoCal Motor Bicycle Racing events must have signed the waiver and be
wearing a Rider or Spectator wristband that is visible.

ALCOHOL

In the interest of the safety of all members and their crews, and spectators
alcohol consumption is not recommended at SMBR events prior to, or during a race.

Alcohol consumption is not permitted by any rider during the race.

Alcohol can be consumed by non-participants in spectator areas only and
not in the pit area.

At Grange Motor Circuit there will be a designated area where spectators can
drink alcohol.

This is per our insurance rules and Grange Motor Circuit rules.

Alcohol can be consumed in the pits after the event is over.

A SMBR racing event is officially over AFTER the last race of the day and when
the Race Director or Announcer, announces that the event has concluded.

No riding on the track will be allowed after the last race until the Trophy and
Prize Ceremony
has concluded.

PLEASE SHOW UP PROMPTLY for the Prize and Trophy Ceremony which will be
1/2 hour after the last race, Thanks.

Any racers or new riders wanting to get some track time after that must get
a pass from the race director and you can not have been consuming alcohol.

If any racer or crew-member is found to be intoxicated they will be asked to leave
the pit area and possibly the racing venue and all fees paid will be forfeit.

If the rider or team member violates this rule a 2nd time, the rider and/or team will
be not allowed to race and only attend as spectators.

SMBR takes safety very seriously and will not compromise the safety of the
riders and/or their families and spectators.

The same rules applies for ANY ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE.

MEDICATION

If for ANY reason, a rider is taking any type of medication which may impair their
reflexes or judgement in any possible way, they must notify race direction.

A mandatory examination of the rider to be performed by on site EMT may be
requested by race direction to test if the rider is fit and alert enough to race.

IF ANYONE IS DISCOVERED TO BE RIDING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ANY
SUBSTANCE ILLEGAL OR OTHERWISE WHICH MAY IMPAIR THEIR RIDING,
THEY WILL BE WITHDRAWN FROM THE RACE EVENT.

Race direction will decide if the rider will be suspended or banned from racing for
that day or permanently.

All fees paid will be forfeit and each situation will be handled on a case by case basis.

****************************************************************

Please read this document carefully and if there is ANYTHING you do not agree with
DO NOT sign it and enter Grange Motor Circuit at any future events.

i'm probably going to have surgery on my shoulder before june, so i'll be missing this race, at least as a participant.

the prospects of surgery has kinda dampened my enthusiasm for finishing my new race bike, but i might be interested in sponsoring a rider.

by "sponsor," i mean, i'll build the bike and pay the entry fee. you gotta get to the track, pay gas, etc unless we can work something out.

it'll be a non-reeded motor so it could be run in the amateur class by a novice, but it should be fast enough to hang with the pros.

ideal rider should be short and skinny like me. bike's got 24" wheels but it's low. not as small as my 20" racer.

anyone interested, pm me.

Joker Machine those there are some mighty fine looking trophies you got there. 2 thumbs up (^)
Joker Machine ( Richard ) his brother Ken and families have been great supporters of the races.
I gotta say that I have met the nicest people at the races.

Those trophies are CNC machined out of solid chunks of aluminum like all of Jokers cool parts.

I can't wait to give out those 7 special trophies at the June 1st race.

Richard at Joker Machine did a great job laying out the engraving on the Trophies.

The only class trophy I'm not too sure on is the "99cc HF" one as the 99 cc
motors aren't made anymore so there are only 79 cc motors for sale now.
Not sure what to call it?
Any ideas?

Who is racing in that class?
scotto and culvercityclassic?
headtrama was bulilding a 79 cc but he can't race his KTM and
79 cc in the same class?
Anyone else planning on racing a 99 / 79 cc HF?

Been working on my bike, getting ready for the June race. Trying to get the two-speed auto to shift a little sooner. If I can get around Roland, I may get a glimpse of Scotto or Gilbert or Andy or the rest of the eight guys that came in ahead of me. Great looking trophies. Let's get registered so Neil can put on another great event.

I do not think, I was the reason for your distant glimpse at the leaders!

You were ahead of me for the whole race and I got past you on the end of the 10th (last) lap!
Your bike was much faster on the straights, but it did not corner as fast
as the 88cc, 6HP BigBoyCycle.
Both of us were missing quite a few horses to race along with Scotto with his "stock" HF99 3.5HP (rotfl) !

We did have a nice race going between us !!!!! It was was a lot of fun!

Yes we did. Thanks for saying my bike didn't corner as fast. I think it's a lot more capable than I am, but I'll keep trying. A great way to spend a Saturday and test your latest bike mods.

i'm not making any definite plans to go. my shoulder's wrecked so i haven't even touched the bike, and it's a long way from being ready.

i'm waiting on insurance and other BS, but i'll probably be having surgery next week, and sitting in the desert sun all day is probably not the best recovery tactic.

but ya never know...

I count 12 days to go till "Race Day", how is the competition stacking up? Would be nice to hear who all is planning on attending and/or racing so I can figure out what gearing I'll need to run? Where's all the HF 99 and 79cc builds I've been reading about the past year or two? All the racers that stepped down from monster builds to the ever increasing popular mid-class? I'm sure there will be plenty of Mopeds racing in various classes but these races are meant for motorized bikes of all descriptions.......3 classes of chinas to boot!

I'm sure most of the regulars are ready for a fun battle, are you in?

See you in the pits.......#3
