there is a really good instructable here on how to build a full wave bridge rectifier , I have built it an use it on both my builds to trikle charge my 12 sla batt its a good system an has extended the recharge on that batt to about 24 to 30 hours before the lights I run begin to look too dim to see where your going at night .
honestly it was a lot of work getting my current draw down as low as possible but well worth the effort , not to mention my states regulations requier a full electrical system to be legal if your going to ride on the streets .

Hi Gary, yeah, I saw that after posting. Other than roll ur own cdi (bookmarked) I very rarely visit the electrical section & am on a small screen phone, so I do alotta scrolling down. I did have the white wire running a 4.7v, .4w bulb but recently switched 2 a 4.5A/H SLA battery (full wave rectifier & switching regulator running a 55w H3 halogen bulb. I havent yet found battery life limits. Cheers
