Here we have a cruiser, owned by a friend and built locally. It just needed some work.....a tune-up, some adjustments and a little TLC. Well about a week and a half later, mission accomplished.....more or less.

Here are some pics of the bike built by Rusty Spokes in SD, CA.

The last pic shows the biggest problem of this build.....the Skyhawk gearbox with it's manual type clutch if you will........nice piece of work that one. The only other gripe is the huge lack of braking power and the really long rear swingarm that lend flimsiness to the rear end. It's an ok looking bike and the HS runs quite well, but the gearbox and flimsy rear end leave a lot to be desired in a daily rider. It has a 520 motorcycle chain on the power side......why?

I was looking at rusty spokes' stretch while planning my stretch build ;)
the swingarm flex reported by many was the main reason I didn't go that route :(

It looks really nice for sure, but I agree with everyone's assessments/ opinions.
They have a really good thing going with that simple design, it looks awesome!
Perhaps Rusty Spokes could produce these suspension frames with a wider spaced swing arm pivot riding on bearings and a gusseted tubular swing arm, more along the lines of a motorcycle? I don't know if the costs involved would be prohibitive for a small test run or not....

I see an EZM or 4GT working out very well on one of these.
