Speaking of redlines. Does anyone know the gear ratio between the crank shaft and the output gear? No offense but please dont reply with speculation.

Hey thanks alot,
The quality isint good enough to count the teeth but I enlarged the image and used a program to find the radii of both gears. The ratio comes out to be 5 to one. If you want to know that means at your engines 7000 RPM Redline the drive sprocket should be rotating at 1400 RPM you can use this to calculate your top speed according to the engine so you dont burn it out going down hills. If anyone can check that for me thatd be great.

I don't know if it is right, but always worked for me. An old "wrench" told me the rule of thumb was to keep any engine at 3/4s and it would live it's life out as planed. With 44T rear sprocket on a Chinagirl, I find that 19 to 22 MPH seems and feels perfect on flat road. After that, it starts to feel and sound like it is time to change gears. (I have to try a SBP shift kit!)

I have yet to try a 40T as Dax suggested but am absolutely going to soon.

As has been said, it is how it feels to each and some plane old good luck with longevity.

Any one have any high mileage 4 strokers?

Awesome Jason, TY. I rode a bunch of 4 strokes at last yr's East Coast rally. Man, it is a different world. I went WOT here and there, but 30 MPH was just joy.

I love my China girls, just saying

Mine just vibrates too much at full revs.
I feel that about 4 to 5000 is about all that mine will full power out at stock. I just gear it so it will go 30mph at 4000rpm. Much smoother.

It seems the police won't like you faster than that anyhow!?
