I imagine the problem is California's pollution standards and the hurdles you have to go through in order to get permission to sell within the state. I also suspect if you check the ebay sales you will find somebody who is either able to sell within CA or doesn't care.

Don't be too harsh about the trial membership thing. It's just a way to stop spammers and spam-bots from cluttering up the forum with trash.

go to ebay, type in Grubee, if necesary hit buy it now only. Theres one for $159.99 (free shipping). The sellers name is Devrou he shipped to me fast and he ships to California. I found websites all over with the same motor for $129.99-$109.99 but none of them shipped to CA. Plus on top of that ebay gave me a coupon for 10% off so I got it for something like $143.00, hope this helps you out some

you only need 3 posts to post links and pictures. so on the 4th post you become an active member. i hate doing this but we have spammers trying to post links and pictures to porn and everything else you can think of of daily

And we want you to know how much we appreciate it, Cruiser. Wading through the garbage on the Internet is bad enough, we don't want it here. Thank you very much for your efforts.

LOL Ron. Thats why the only adult site I go to is sheep.com. malware free!

(out of curiosity, I googled "sheep.com" snork, it is a real site about adopting sheep. cracked me up)
Adopt a sheep, adopt a pet, lamb photos Put your curser over where it says not to. Is funny. I ended up emailing farmer 2 thank him/her for the laugh.

And page has some hot sheep vids.

wut?

The vendors, I know of that ship to ca.

ThatsDax, USABikeMotors, SpookyTooth and zone8cycling.

My last engine, was a toss up between dax and usabike "took a couple days to decide". I've heard lots of good things about dax, but I really wanted a starfire engine so went with usabike "only place I could find that will ship a grubee engine". Telling myself, that my next kit will be from dax. Both ended being about the same price, $150 shipped.

I came to that same decision for a bike I built. Went with USA but I want to do thatsdax on the next one. Fickle am I. Never bought a motor from the same vendor twice. I do know that if I decide to buy more than 1, I will go with USA and drive down and pick them up.

haha... tryin to jump right in and be helpful, eh? Just start with your 2-Cents, instead of the $2 column. I'm in the same boat for now. Better to avoid the spammers.

I'd suggest trying ZoomBicycles.com

I'm kind of the same way for now, after I've tried a few vendors I might settle on one.
