I am trying to decide on which kit to buy and was curious which kits would be compatible with disc brakes. I have disc brakes on the front and back with a single speed 29er bike.

I am leaning towards going with a rear mount friction drive kit.

If you go with a friction kit....no worries. You can use any kind of brake you want because the friction roller only contacts the top of the tire.

HI,

As donutguy said a friction drive will work w/ any brakes but they will tend to eat tires more than a chain drive....

You can use any chain drive kit and disc brake BUT you will need a Top Hat Sprocket Adapter to make it work.

Hope this helps you.
