I very badly damaged the crank case on my bike, so I'm getting a new bottom end (with a new crank) I am going to be using the same piston, rings, and top end I have used for 300 miles.

Do I have to start the break in process all over?

If you're using the same cylinder, piston, and rings all you'll need to do is put everything on the new bottom end and you won't have to re break it in, the main reason for breaking an engine in is to seat the rings so you'll be ok as long as you're using all the original top end parts.

should be no problem is both rod length & crank stroke are the same - so many diffs out there now : (

may not be needed, but I like to go gently on bearing surfaces that are new and finished by a chinese factory rather than one with good quality control
