Has anyone ever used a 1980's 10-speed Royce Union for a 4-stroke build? What do you think of the construction of this bike? I'm not sure if the welds are strong enough. I adapted a Schwinn Cruiser fork. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I have not personally installed an HT in one of those.

It's a brazed frame with support brackets... should be as good as many others.
Bonus that it's nice and clean so you may keep an eye on things and inspect for evidence of cracking as you motor about your town... :)

If I was comfortable with that bike, I would run it.

Good luck

Royce-Union originally imported bicycles from West Germany, Italy and Japan.
In the later years, imports came from Taiwan.
Royce Union was then sold to Huffy.
If your model is from the 1980s, it is probably one that was made in Taiwan.
It's probably OK to motorize it.
