Since my bike is sorta ready to ride, I'm thinking of painting the exhaust tube. Since, my weld are the prettiest weld compare to anyone here, I like to paint it flat black. But I want to smooth out the weld with bondo, and I really don't know if bondo would withstand the heat from the tube. It looks like bondo would be ok up 180F. DOes anyone know if the exhaust tube ever get that high?

bondo definitely won't work. an old autobody trick to remove it is to heat up the backside of a panel with a torch and it falls right off.

i dunno the temperature an exhust gets, but my leg tells me it's a lot more than 180.

the stock black exhaust will burn off all the paint in the first few days, and hi temp exhaust paint burns off as well.

either live with it, learn how to weld better, or get some exhaust wrap... :)

I used jb weld and high temp engine paint on a modified stock exhaust. You have to get the good engine paint, the kind that goes up to 1200 degrees. The paint never peeled, and neither did the jb weld.
