I"m building a suspension seat with ideas from lowbrow
http://www.lowbrowcustoms.com/index.php?l=page_view&p=tech_how_to_mount_a_solo_seat

Their seat hinge cost a whoopping $49

with the following parts at your local hardware store
the door hinge is $22 and a mending braze for $3.49

There is another spring in the garage somewhere.. These springs came off the Firmstrong chief seat.

The seat post will be welded to this and i'll be using the cloud 9 seat

redid the seat today, 5" springs are nice....It's a sin not to, since the moped wheel/tires gave me 6" for the 5" springs. hahhaah

Awesome idea, Magna.

Been playing with the idea of a "sprung seat" for a good while and always got hung up on how to "hinge" it.

Really funny that the answer was to use an actual hinge!
(when I am done laughing at my self, gonna give me a long talking to)

LOL, I'm just too cheap to buy a real seat pivot these days. but the current hinge on there is much stronger then the one i first started. I'll get pix if it's nice out tomorrow. Been rainny here.
