Hi

I got a an 80cc kit from powerkingshop (an ebay shop) and the site says it is a "standard bike chain" which is clearly untrue. It broke my chain tool. It has a 1/2" pitch and a 5/16" width, which I guess makes it a 428 or a #41 by what research on the internet I have done tonight. Frankly I don't know what it is and I would like to know what kind of chain tool I should use to pop links off.

i use a jigsaw to cut links and pliers to pull off cut links, its easy, pin falls out, then you put in master link after you removed the ones you want.no special tools required,.

jigsaw from walmart = $15 ,not having to buy a chain breaker tool = priceless

I've not had much luck with master links. I usually use a chain break tool to push a pin almost all the way out, remove the proper amount of links, then press the pin back in place.
