Good idea... I know the white stuff don't work too well with gasoline so I guess thet's what the difference is.
There's also fuel proof teflon thread paste that I've used on mine to stop a leak, it can be found in the hardware stores as well.

I hear you. I replaced mine with the SBP model and it worked great but when some welding was done I think it warped the threading slightly and became a mess...Easy fix in the end.
