Where cattle outnumber people 3 to 1.
I intended to go very slowly, but I find myself going faster than I would have thought. I'm curious about the rest of you.

To make it quick, how about this format? Suggestions are welcome.

Assuming acceptable weather and road conditions;

Bike: cruiser
Engine size: 49cc
Drive type: factory gearbox, chain
Load weight: 200lb (you, your gear etc)
Terrain: mostly flat, asphalt
Area: in town
Average speed: 15mph
Max speed: 26mph

I'm looking to optimize the gearing to run in the engines sweet spot at my normal cruising speed. (about 20-23mph) Looks like this will turn the trick!

Vancouver, B.C.
Bike: Mountain Bike
Engine size: 66cc China Girl
Drive type: Chain, 36T sprocket
Load weight: Around 155 lbs / 70kg
Terrain: hilly, flat, bridges, all asphalt/concrete
Area: surburban
Average speed: 45 kph / 28 mph (flat) and 29 kph / 18 mph uphill.
Max speed: 58 kph / 36 mph

My 'idling speed' (where it will put along with no throttle at all on flat ground) is around 30-33 kph/18-20 mph.

I have had it to 68.9 kph / 42.etc mph coming down the bridge, but that's where the bike itself began a speed-wobble beneath me, so I had to cut the throttle and let it settle down a bit.

Great! So far our weight on the tyres is: 275lbs, and we ride at: 25mph. Knowledge is power, and there's alot more here.
Let's get as many members as possible to give their feedback here. Then we can talk about braking and other issues with some mathematical info.

Thanks for the help!.we..wee.brnot

Depends on the bike

120cc 4 stroke, 30/44 - street
66cc 2 stroke with jack shaft 24/30 - off road
66cc 2 stroke single speed 20/26 - street

Lots of hills where I live
