I asked in another thread about this kit and was told that the motor is pretty awful. More than one person said so, I believe it.

Never cared for the friction-drives at all myself. Simple, but it doesn't allow any sort of ratio-changing (gearbox) setup, and friction is a very inefficient means of transmitting torque. I wonder if it's possible to rear-mount an engine like friction-drive, but have it linked to a chain instead of a roller. Anyone?

I have a staton 35cc subaru friction drive that i use at work to buzz around. Its not as fun as my china girls,but Its very dependable transportation.Staton-inc.com makes a unit that is rear mounted with a chain.Also, livefastmotors.com has a good looking 49cc rear mount chain drive.

Also guaranteed not to get you're pant leg caught in the chain or on the clutch lever...gotta love a Butt warmer on a cool day....
