heres my question I know the 420 and 428 sprockets are interchangable one way. am I right that the difference is only chain width. One of my builds has a 420 sprocket on engine and a 428 on the rear tire do I use the 420 chain or a 428 chain? Anyone??? Thanks Rick.

A 420 and 428 chain are different in every dimension. If you HAVE to mix and match, I'd run the 420 chain. Not sure how it's gonna work though

That was not right, they both have a 1/2" pitch.
Roller diameter is .306" vs. .335"
Between inner plates- 1/4" vs. 5/16"
Pin diameter- .156" vs .177

thanks joe I been told i can use a sprocket from a mid 60s cb/cl 160 on the lifan 125 Ill cross reference them tomorrow as well as consulting the micro-fish drawings. I know you can mix n match some chains and sprockets. I just couldnt remember which ones. Thanx again
