i am planning to put a weed wacker motor on my 26" Treck mountain bike. I use my bike for hauling a 2'x3' trailer that carries a push mower. I need to know how to motorize my bike and give it enough torque to pull my trailer.

If you want to build one from scratch, you have to fabricate a lot of parts, how mechanical are you?

Have you looked at the available bicycle motor kits?

Hi,

Pretty much any kit would cope with that - the only issues are reliablity, longevity and what look & system you prefer...

We can do... and have:-

Chain drive single ratio
Chain drive geared
Belt drive

2 stroke rack mount
4 stroke rack mount
2/4 stroke frame mount

25cc - 100cc+ displacements

pedal/clutch start - recoil start - even electric start if you are lazy lol

Its probably cheaper and more effective in the long run to invest in one of the better kits - it may also be safer as the problems with these are already ironed out and people know what to look for and how to troubleshoot them...

good luck in your search..

I have been working on a weed wacker bike for a while now and haven't conquered it yet. I have very limited skills and tools so I might not be able to. for what you want the cheap Chinese kits might do just fine. I have pulled trailers with mine just not loaded down ones.

The Chinese kit and a couple of ebikes I built is all I can attest to.

Oh yeah welcome to the site if you need anything just ask
