I did an experiment on the last grubbe i actually ran . . . For 3 weeks i ran it with all kinds of junk gas including putting rubbing alcahal and paint thinner in it and even acitone in an atempt to blow it up . . . For 3 long weks i tried to blow it and . . . . Nothing lol the bottom end looked practicaly new and the jig and piston were not that bad given the circumstanses . . . I even held her wide open with no load for a good 5 min before i decided its not gonna blow and stripped it for parts

that is what sold me on the grubee motors . . . I spent 3 weeks trying to kill one and it took a beating like joe pechie in casino and didnt even flinch

You didnt really want to blow that engine man..... I could have trashed it in less than 5 min. easy, straight gasoline with no oil in it and bingo ....... dead 2 smoker...lol...!

Nothing in that grube engine that is any better than what is in some of the others, same ole cheap chinese stuff, china lume case, china chrome cylinder bore, china lume piston and same bearings and ring as mseveral others.......

But hey at least you had fun trying to blow it without actually meaning to.....lol!

And now you have some extra parts for other projects.....

Fun fun fun....

A dax type pk80 with a simple easy to tune NT carb or even the dellorto clone RT carb is a very capable set up, I know since I have one that has exceeded 50 mph

CNS carbs have always been known on this forum to be harder to get right, but the new V3 model may be a lot better now.

I say go PK 80 with NT carb and we can help you easily get it tuned to run good and reliable without a lot of fuss if you have some tools and slme mechanical experience.

North Bend, Or,
40 MPH average or very occasionally?

Really, if you want to consistently go 40 mph, you should think about getting a 150cc, street legal scooter. Because with all things said and done, the amount of time and money spent, you'll have that much invested in the broken bits on the bike engine and bike itself.

If just only occasionally, on a long downhills, with a tailwind, you want to explore the upper reaches of the 30 mph range, I'd be seriously looking at a Golden Eagle with a Tanaka PureFire 47 cc.

Just my Dos Centavos.
