I have a standard peanut tank on my new build. Today I ran out of gas at 21.5 miles. I am using the standard 44 tooth sproket, with a DAX 80 cc engine. running 24 to 1 for normal engine break in. I weigh about 210 lbs, mainly drove on flat streets toady. What should normal milage per tank be?

Thanks for your feedback

I get roughly 46 miles to the tank running 100-1 Opti-2, I weigh 220+ but that's easy cruising, If I tear around at WOT all the time I can empty a tank in as little as 20 miles.

Hey!

Usually I can go 80 Km per tank, Sorry about the miles conversion I live in Quebec and my Speedometer is in KM only....

Buy my motor is new, so I can figure it will be better later on.

What I did, is so I don't end up far away from home with no gas left, I installed a water bottle (in Stainless Steel) on a bottle rack full of pre mix gas. Just in case...

Same thing here but mine's tucked in behind the seat. It only took running out of gas twice for me to learn. lol

I weigh in at 245 lbs and get around 50 miles per 2 liter tank. I'm not racing around, but cruising at 25 mph or so. My first tank or two was about the same as yours. Better gas economy will be seen as the engine loosens up internally and the rings seat better.

My bike weighs in at 27kg (59lb), I weigh about 95kg (209lb) and the best fuel economy I recorded was about 96km or 59mi. on a full tank.. not long ago, I stated this to a park ranger here in Oz and he said "We should all be ridin' one of those" :)

It might be more useful to state MPG or KMPG instead of tank because tanks size varies. Originally they were all 1/2 gal but kits now seen to come with much smaller capacity (1/3 gal?). And many like myself have upgraded to the 3/4 gal tanks and a few to the old hard-to-find 1 gal.

I can't really speak for myself, because up until recently, I've only been putting a little gas in the tank at a time. My brother mixes his fuel at about 32:1 and gets around 25mpg or so. He's 190-200lbs and rides balls to the wall. I'm 225lbs and have a very similar riding style.

Anyone know for sure how big the "standard" tank is? I've been wondering about this for sometime. I pre-mix my gas in a separate can and fill the bike when needed. I've never had an occasion to fill it at a gas station, so I don't know how big the gas tank on the bike is.

Reading posts is a "good thing". :)

The tank I got is just over 2 litres which is probably about 3/4 gal so I get about 80 mpg. Does that sound right?

Actually its just over 2.5 litre, so must be 3/4 gallons. Im thinking of installing the big 1 gallon tank :D
