I don't know when I can be trail riding again, but around New Years a couple times in Mendocino National Forest I had some fun times.
I can't remember exactly what day time temps were, but at night camping you know it is below freezing. Fun to see a little snow at altitude and see wild turkeys about.
Too much heat during the hot season there for me and also the engine. 103 F and even in mid 90's really bites. More power when its cold and some snow and fun mud to get enough momentum to get through is fun. There are some streams that ice over, but I've heard as you cross them it is just surface ice and the water splashes.
