Since I have only 1 chain and it is very short only couples top to bottom jack shaft, I do not think enough links are there to have that de-powering slack issue. Only thing I have had to do is be sure that the alignment is true for the two sprockets. The other two transmission connects are 4L v-belt cogged type to make bends without heating up to much.

Master link has never been an issue at all and it is #35 Chain.

When you have some outings with the shocks being put to the test, get some video from the side line. I'm not sure you'll do trails. For where I ride you need to have a registration, but OHV 52 dollars 2 years and cheap to free campground where the trails are is great!
