Glad to have both of you on the forum, Mark & Iain. My friend Fasteddy of Vancouver, B.C. is also enamored with these engines and Intrepid Wheel Woman (Anne) of New Zealand is using the same Villiars midget on her cyclecar.

I see that in Britain there are vintage mower clubs with some access to Villiars midget parts. No doubt the electric can be sorted out on the one engine and good for you in clearing out the carbon of the second one. I'll look forward to your thread.

You have a rich history of great old motorbikes and light motorcycles in Britain, even if they are now long gone as manufacturers. Same has happened in the U.S. You guys are in for a lot of fun with making one of your own... but be forewarned, it is addictive.
Someday when I grow up I will probably lose interest in toys with wheels, but until then...
