I don't understand the descriptions of some of these motor vehicles. When I was a kid in the 50's, a "moped" was an ultra-light motorcycle with pedals. Usually stamped steel components with stronger wheels and hubs than a regular bicycle of the day, and larger diameter tires. The next classification was "motor scooter", which usually was a step-through type (Allstate/Cushman/Vespa/Lambretta/etc.), or leg over, (Cushman Eagle/Mustang) depending on the style with small diameter tires.
Why are these new models called mopeds? Can you pedal them without engine power? I wouldn't think they would classify as a moped if you can't.
Just some thoughts from an old guy.
