You don't have to worry about the C-clips or wrist pin until you trash a piston. When you install the pin the C-clip holds it in place. If you ever have to replace a piston, be sure to turn the engine on it's side when installing the clips.

I dropped a clip in the crankcase. Like a moron, I thought nothing bad would happen. Maybe it will just get crushed up and go away...
Yes the missing clip got crushed... between the cylinder and piston :-( twice!!

All I'm saying, if you have to remove the cylinder, don't drop anything in the crank case.
