Did you run into any trouble drilling into this thing? How do you make CERTAIN there's no pressure or residual gas in it before you drill it? I'm considering devising a way to puncture a propane tank from a distance. Is this over cautious?
I used the propane tank for a small camping grill. Cooked with it until the tank was empty. Then it has a valve on top of tank near the edge that is a valve to release pressure. You pull on it to release any residual propane or fumes. I pulled back on it and got very little out but did smell propane. I then crossed my fingers, and drilled this puppy. I have done one more this way with no problems. Still have all my fingers and eyes.
