Yeah apparently the Forerunner brakes are a bad idea from the factory.. some sort of a band brake on the back axle, which is useless with any speed or inertia against it, or when wet. Living in the Pacific NorthWest, I'm dealing with hills and damp conditions a lot.

It looks like we may have to make the missing parts for the front end, but I've only done a quick search for the beast for general info so far. Looking for parts could be a different challenge.

I plan on pulling the motor off the dead scooter in the next few weeks, and having a look at it. Turning isn't the same as able to run, I know, but it's a good start. If it doesn't work out, then I dropped $40 on a "do it yourself small engine course" as I learn from working with it.


Any day that starts with a good ride is already a better day, and a bad day riding still beats a good day working.
