I do know that, accounting for a degree of speedometer error, my first motorized bicycle - the Tempus - would do at least 30 mph. But I only had one opportunity, on the flattest and most level street I found myself on, and at the quietest time of day. Nowhere else and no other time would have been safe enough. Indianapolis roads are terrible right now. (We have an "Adopt a Pothole" program. I am NOT kidding. That was NOT a joke) And the car drivers are trying to become as bad as those in Boston.
