Its a 10 mm by 1 thread. However if you use an SAE 1/8" pipe tap you can rethread the tank to fit a more easily found petcock like those at Ace hardware, Grainger and other suppliers.
The kits are a machine thread that requires a fiber washer to seal. Pipe threads are tapered and can be sealed by just tightening or a gasoline resistant thread sealer. Just a word or caution: Don't run the tap in too deep. Just enough to get the petcock to thread in.
