You can spray just a touch of starting fluid from a can on the joint between the jug and the intake manifold and see if the engine revs higher . After much head scratching , I just went ahead and replaced that gasket and it helped me eliminate my idle woes . Sorry, I didn't see at first that you had a starting fluid, funding shortage . If you fix that gasket with a new one it will work .
