Heavier duty clutch cable ?

Hi,

Today was my first day on the road with new motor. Had a great experience I loved it. I was wondering if I can replace the original clutch cable with a more heavier duty clutch cable? The original cable has a few kinks in it. Could I use a motorcycle clutch cable? It seems like it takes a lot of force to move my clutch arm. Thanks

Jim

You can use any cable that you can fit on there and it does get easier to pull after its used for a while. I replaced mine with a bike brake cable.

One without kinks would probibly help a lot,I think I saw somewhere on here they were talking about bike cables being heaveier duty (?)

the best cables i've found are Jagwire Compressionless Mountain Bike Cables.

they've got a kevlar lining in the housing, and a teflon insert, too.

it's a huge difference in feel over the mushy stock cables.

the problem with the clutch requiring a lot of force is another story, though, and a new cable won't help much.

if you take the clutch cover off, you can back the flower nut out till it feels right. it might take some trial and error, but it's easy when you figure it out.

my clutch is effortless to pull.
