I did mine with a steel plate from farm and fleet between the motor and frame, with a 1.5" muffler clamp around the frame to the plate. Worked perfectly.
A friend of mine just got his Southport today and mounted the engine by putting the flat "drill through the frame" adapter plate between the engine and the mount spacer on the rear mount, the front mount right to the frame - after removing the pedal chain guard. There's about a chain-width's space between the pedal chain and the clutch cover, but it works!
