Friend of mine just got a kit and this bike:
Amazon.com: Schwinn Southport Men's Cruiser Bike (26-Inch Wheels): Sports & Outdoors
(If it's not selected, pick red/silver for the color.)
Can't beat $105 shipped for a department store cruiser with front and rear cable brakes. The Cranbrook will cost you that much once you put tax on it, and Amazon ships to your door. It's basically the Target Jaguar and Walmart Landmark, with a different paint scheme. No fenders on it, but you can get Planet Bike fenders from Amazon for $13, also super saver shipping over $25, so order together.
Speaking of fenders, if you go with the Cranbrook, either reinforce the fender mount to the frame or discard them entirely.
Edit; Oh, also, if your wheels show up all out of round (which they will), just call the Pacific Cycles warranty number, and they'll give you one of two options. They'll refund you $10 per wheel if you take them to a shop for truing, or they'll just send you a new set of wheels. All they want is the frame number.
