A higher price could incentivize Jim to work longer hours or work faster to bring in the higher profits and keep the customers happy. The people who wait longer would spend less under my example. It really depends on the agreement between customer and seller. That's why posting wait times is a good idea. It prevents customer frustration, Jim's frustration, and prevents needless contact.
