Default Re: muffler/noise

I bought one of those "poo poo pipes" once, but it wouldn't fit on my bike, the angles of the bends were all wrong, it didn't even look like it was made to go on a bike. I could have made it work with some serious modification, but I decided that if I was going to cut, bend and weld on a exhaust pipe, I might as well start from scratch. So I got some 3/4 electrical conduit and some high heat paint made for BBQ grills and went to work. I used to flange from the original exhaust pipe and the "black cat" muffler that came with my kit. I don't know that the bike is any quieter, but the loud poppy sound from the exhaust is now behind me instead of under me. It's much more comfortable, looks cool (IMO), and added just a little back pressure therefore increasing my low end power a little bit. Also it sounds a little deeper, but that could be just because the sound has moved. Anyway, here's some pics of it.
