Well, as expected, I couldn't help myself and went out in the dark to attempt my first start on my mountain bike. Yeah, I know. What a dumb a**! Hey at least it wasn't raining. Anyways, It pretty much fired right up. Rode 'er round the block once....okay twice and got it warmed up. Then parked it and did my checks. Everything seems reasonably OK. Still not completely happy with the tension set up but i'll work on that in the morning. Also probably change the setting on the carb too. All in all a sucess I think. I want to thank everyone for the great help and the incredible info here. I don't think I could have pulled it off alone.

What a great feeling! You're going to love cruising the open roads :D.!

Quick suggestion: Try to run the bike with and without the air filter on to see if the performance increases with the air filter off. If it does, you may want to reduce the fuel in the mixture by moving the clip on the throttle needle up one slot. This, of course, is only if you see increased performance with the air filter off--especially at full throttle.
