  • Hello,

I've watched your videos on YouTube and your use of an engine with the Land Rider shifting system is intriguing.

I found a ladies version on Facebook Marketplace for cheap and was wondering if you feel it's robust enough for a 3 horsepower 4-stroke engine. I really want to use a Lifan 79cc like the Phatmoto bikes.

The men's frame is pretty solid. Though I did have to weld a reinforcement in on the right side chain stay because it broke lose from the frame. The rear axle is very low grade. So I'd suggest replacing the freewheel hub at least with a cassette hub. Are you planning to do a rear mount or a mid mount?

1stly, thank you for your reply. It'll be mid mount. I just watched the videos again and was wondering, is the zinging sound from the Staton gear drive? Also, I watched a bike mechanic guy talking it down because of the pedal cadence required for shifting. That shouldn't be a problem with engine power.

Yes the gear box does have a bit of a whine. I'm a large man 250 lbs the bike weighs 100 lbs. With the system I'm using there's no slippage at all. The shifting cadence is adjustable on the derailleur. I prefer it to be set high since this way the gearing is more in sequence with the gearing.
Hey Jerry, I notice you have a shift kit. I have SBP shift kit . So in TN does this disqualify our bikes from being classified as motorized bicycle because we don't have "automatic" transmission? Thanks Dooly
