Internal geared hub worked great, but then my bike was stolen. Cut the lock and everything. A real bummer. But now I'm just trying to build a new one. So long as you let off the gas for an instant, shifting with the Shimano Alfine (8-SPD) was no problem. I plan on using the same setup.
