Panthers still have a say
Too bad they have such a crappy open air field.
By the weather predictions it's going to be a wet, cold, muddy slopfest.
Though that makes a game more entertaining to watch, it makes it all that much more luck, which I feel should not be such a big part of football, especially for the a Conference Championship game or a Superbowl.

It just would have been nice to play here, sunny and 70 today and all weekend.

I would imagine the Panthers would rather be playing on our field too, but the home field advantage is the fans.

I was watching the morning news and they were showing Panthers stadium, snow everywhere, depending on what this '100 year storm' does, this game may be decided by who can actually score at all, and the fans may not be much of a factor.

Naw, fans are always a factor, it takes the opposing teams audibles away.
This is going to be a tough game for the Card's, they don't even fly out until tomorrow.

Go Cardiac Cardinal's, you can do it guys!!

Well go figure...
The HD channel for the game is out in my neighborhood today!
Going to have to watch the game in old regular quality, that really bites.

65" HD TV and can't get the size and quality.
Yes, I could get an antenna to get it HD, but then I am at the mercy of real time. A real time game takes about 3 1/2 hours.

I don't do real time until the very end, I use a DVR to pause when I want to, and fast forward through all the commercials and the other game clock stop time outs.

In short, it's a 60 minute game I can watch in ~90 minutes catching up at the very end unless there is overtime of course.
I don't even start watching until it's been recording for an hour.

Bathroom breaks, snack runs, whatever, happens in my time when I want it and not that of realities time, I'll suffer though low rez before I give up that ability.

If we catch up to reality too soon there is always something to be done or made on a Sunday afternoon while we pause real life TV to buffer ahead enough.

I know, waa waa, but you would think a cable company I pay ~$200 a month and been with over 20 years with an issue in this area for over a week wouldn't just handle their node here on a such an important day just cost them my business, forever.
Screw You Cox Cable.

Card's got there OK.
Fun Fact: The state bird of Carolina is the Cardinal so it is sort of like a home game.

Just watch the air attack today.

The George Halas trophy will be Card's, the Champs of the NFC, today.
You need the current one to go to the SB from the NFC ;-}

Yes!

We're gunning for you, KC.
Denver defense was looking good today.
Let's see what happens in the next hour. It could be Manning's last hurrah, but whatever, this Superbowl is going to be a good one.

And to all those talking heads who hate the Broncos, those network know-it-alls who sit there before a game and tell us what we're going to see, like they know, "How do ya like them apples?"

KC, I feel your pain, my friend. Denver has been where you're at, more than once. I remember a couple of games that we looked bad too.

Just keep in mind, "It's only a game."

At least maybe they'll get your signal fixed so you can watch Super Bowl on your big screen.

What a weekend huh?

On top of being sick and crap TV I endured the absolute humiliation of the Cardinals, again.

No excuses.
Just really rookie performances by most everyone, especially Palmer.
Even Larry couldn't make crucial catches and it seemed everyone forget how to tackle.
No Cardiac Cardinal moment, not even chance of one we were beat so bad from the start.

The Denver game was Awesome.
A blocked 2 point conversion to tie the game at the end.
Cool and entertaining game.

Though I still have my Card's attire on today, besides being sick I am feeling forlorn for the team, ya good year and all, but still a bit bitter for how they played when it mattered that much.

Whatever Mojo they had all year they left it at home and got their collective asses whipped by 34 points.
Those are numbers we usually win by.

As for me, well, I am headed for the couch for a sick/mourning day off today.

Although I was rooting for the cards, Palmer played like he had a few too many cocktails the night before. It was frustrating to watch. Panthers do look like the stronger team going into the super bowl but you never know on any given Sunday.

So I mentioned Fox HD was out on my cable for the playoffs, it been a 3 week issue.

I have called every day complaining and a couple techs were out but couldn't fit.

A couple days ago I found out Cox has a tech support forum on their web site and I started sharing my experience in my own special detailed way...
20 year customer paying $200 a month and I had to watch both the Cardinals playoff games in low def?

Apparently it came down from 'on high' to fix me so I'd shut up and not jump ship.

Yesterday a small army of Cox workers came.
4 trucks including a cherry picker, half a dozen men including the supervisor of the whole western region, 2 of their master techs, and here all afternoon, you get the idea.

The only box they could to get work was a 6 tuner 2 Terabyte DVR set up in one of the trucks for testing that got Fox HD.
I convinced them to give me that box.

Imagine my surprise when I went to watch my morning news this morning and the station is gone again.

On the bad side the issue is still not fixed.
On the good side I have killer new 6 tuner 2TB dvr, and the Supervisor gave me his card and said "Call me directly if you have any more issues".

I'll bet he didn't expect me to using that number first thing today but it sure saves me a lot of time.

Now, do they finally find the real problem and fix it today or not?
They didn't with an army here yesterday but they call it a day a 6 pm.

My wife got home at 5:30 last night to see the parade of men and machines, she was like "What the heck did you do KC!?". hehe, I didn't need to answer, after 30 years together all I needed to do was give her the 'I handled it smile' ;-}

So, who is going to watch football today?

Tom

Today won't be the extravaganza of years past, just family as the hangover from the Cardinal's being so close and not making it still lingers and dampened our enthusiasm.

But football is football and we all love it.

What I am liking today is the Phoenix Open and have it recording too.

I have a very deep connection with the rowdiest most popular PGA stop on the Pro Golf tour, and years of great memories as I was involved for several years.

That should be for another topic, but even in my football topic I have to say few have ever had the experiences I have enjoyed there.

When the Phoenix Open moved from the Phoenix Country Club where I watched my first live event to the the TPC Scottsdale in the mid '80s was really something.

It is a Stadium golf course designed for fans.
http://www.tpc.com/scottsdale-history

It quickly turned from a golf tournament to a huge party for the social elite with a golf game as entertainment for the party, and I was an insider with things not even the elite could get.

My buddy Chapin somehow got the contract to take care of ALL of the golf carts there and he needed help.
This was during my Computer business days so I could do whatever the heck I wanted like taking a week off and volunteered.

The job involved making sure all the ~200 carts were rounded up and brought into the 'cart tent' at night to be cleaned out and plunged into chargers for the next day.

I came up with hanging the chargers from above and it cut the time to do that in half which left us a lot of time to just screw off, and screw off I did, in style

Chapin on the other hand was great at making deals with the other vendors there to swap what they had for the best carts.

I am talking the best free food and cases of free beer every day!

I'd work easy fun work for a week for free, but I made off with things including cash that made more than I didn't make doing computers for that week.

I didn't have to pay parking or buy a ticket, I was let right in and parked next to the cart tent next to the course.

Then in short, if you were on a TPC cart going in or out you were an unquestioned god.

After we got all the players, officials and vendor carts on their way in the morning, I'd load my cart cart with a cooler full of free beer and sandwiches and head out on the course alone in luxury for the day.

Now remember, the crowd was mostly rich classy people, I am talking women wearing high hills trying to walk around grass hills, and rich lazy men, and I am riding around alone on mobile shade sitting on a comfortable seat drinking free beer and eating free really good food on something they couldn't get.

You really need to let that sink in for a minute...

Though I was there to watch some spectacular golf, which I did like Tigers hole in one one the 16th one year, I couldn't help but 'help others' especially the hot ladies ;-}

The money fun started at night.
I loved the Birds Nest party tent, it is infamous around here as the best high society tent party there is, and again riding up on a cart was a free ticket in but I'd ride to that on the gas 6 sedater cart to party for a bit.

When I'd had my fun there and ready to leave I had people throwing me money (or their body) to drive them to their car.

Since I was not allowed to do this I had to tell them that.
Ever see a privileged man or gorgeous woman beg and offer something to make an exception?

Suffice it to say I really miss those days and never had more fun, adventures, and made more money from a non-paying job in my life and I have left a lot off this story like taking the gas cart off grounds ;-}

But back to football...

I just want a good close game.
I will just appreciate really good plays with no favorite other than thinking the Panthers taking our place there, they better darn sure win it!http://motorbicycling.com//www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/
