Heck yea! ...usually a bit after midnight/just before dawn though as that's when it's the truly quiet time 'round here (^)

I've tried pics & vids, unfortunately the digital doesn't seem to like the dark as much as I however. It does pretty well for pics but I just never remember to stop and take a shot it seems. I've made a coupla wildly exciting vids that show not much more than the occasional streetlight... and we've precious few of those lol

I do like thus'un however;

Nothing better then cruising around at 2 am. I have the entire city to myself and if I hit the rural areas, I really let loose.

I can ride all night without seeing a single car sometimes.

That's a good way to meet up with drunk drivers...I don't go out at dark usually...too many things working against you...your own visibility...theirs...are they sober...etc

That sounds fun but I've never ridden at 2 am. My favorite rides are Saturday or Sunday mornings around 8:00 when NOBODY is on the roads. Then afterwards, come back and figure out which pub to eat wings and watch sports. Life can be tough ya know?

I used to go for runs around 1 every night, but then I stopped doing it so often because I didn't want to wake up the whole neighborhood.

Never waited until midnight, but...
I've enjoyed many after sundown rides. It takes a good headlight and I stay off main streets but a ride after a long hot summer day can be fun. My bikes are all quiet so I'm not worried about bothering folks and I usually stay in the low 20s.

A late eveing ride can reward you with smells and sights that you'd miss during the day. Very relaxing riding. The only downside is you need to come in after and shower off the Castor oil smells before bedtime. :)

I don't often go out after midnight for the sheer fun of it. But that's more because I'm the type who wants sleep. A lot.

But I do love riding after dark. That's one of the reasons I don't mind winter at all. I get away from that darned Sun.

And riding on a snowy night? Life can't hardly get better than that.

Tonight's "midnight run" & I 'membered to take a few shots of the taddy lol;

Being the wee hours of Saturday mornin' there was a patrol car lurkin' the turn off going down to the docks ofc, I stopped and said howyabe & mentioned what I was up to, that I didn't wanna freak 'em out any. They laughed and said thanks, then complemented the lighting on my ride :D

They musta been bored as heck, there wasn't a car to be seen as per the norm 'round these parts - just the ride, the road & the occasional gleam of some critter's eyes watchin' & wonderin' what the heck I was up to ;)

mostly only when I stay too late at my girl's place, although a few of us did a 4th of july ride this year and it was very cool,still too much traffic (It WAS the 4th.)but night riding is the best.

i tried once,but it was to try my headlight.worst ride ever.peak of the bug season,anything that flies was attracted to the lights,so it was like driving into a wall of bugs.

i suppose a 2 am ride the bugs would be gone,but im unconcious then.

need quiet exhaust as i respect my neighbours,not like them Nobs with no baffles in their atv's.

I work swing shift and frequently leave for work at 3AM..always the best ride. Zero traffic except for the occasional cop coming from the station between my home and work. Always get a nod and a wave from those guys and no hassles. Going to work (or coming home) at 3PM is a nightmare and usually I pull a very questionable and most likely illegal shortcut over a ped bridge into a park. Its pretty sketchy as the old wrought iron rails have rusted away! I make sure no one seems to be looking and walk it over. Beats getting run off the road by some soccer mom hurrying home. Picture says it all. Ride Safe!

2 reasons why I don't/haven't yet:
1) No decent light yet (sometime soon)
2) It would be on the weekend. (see signature)

I really need a light, because after work when I finally get out, the sun is falling fast and nearly gone by 8:00pm, small window of pleasure and shrinking fast.
Gonna get me some bright LEDS and make me a head light and tail light.
Or, if I ever want lights at all, I will just buy a light. ;)

Been night riding for years! Much less traffic and hassle.
BUT, here in Memphis you need to really pay attention to the road surface.
I've been surprised by holes a lot, especially on side streets. (I don't run a headlight)

Just got done with my midnight ride... Hot rod in around everywhere.. Checking all the back alley ways for crime and rape... Shooting out to the sidewalk for a pedal... Hit the street and drop the clutch... Click and pop pop.. Back on the prowl darting between parking lots... No cars to blinker check.. Headlights show those who dare get in my hair... Quick stop at the store and back to the wind in my hair.. Flare i got it as folks piddle poke with walking... I clocking 30... and 30 mins till in hit downtown Las Vegas... Soon i be there sitting on my bike while tourist look and stare... Pedal pedal click pop pop my Grubee skyhawk 5g frame combo got me there... I felt like batman tonight... Just no crime to stop and watch... Love Midnight rides...brnot
