Personally I don't think there's enough racing MBs in the world to justify a whole forum. OTOH a catagory for highly modified china girl motors would be quite interesting, and could include race motors.

Yah I agree with biknut on this one. There wouldn't be enough bikes to post up that have actually been on a track before, but maybe if some good rules were made as to what classifies a race bike an actual racer, you'd have more race than you could handle. Just something to consider. I know for certain we wouldn't want just a bunch of normal bikes on there though, so someone should come up with some good effective rules. Even with cars and motorcycles there are countless numbers of them that are considered racers (not referring to ricers) and have never been on a track before.

Umm, I believe there is already a forum for your redundant request and it can be found here: High Performance Bicycle Engine Tips http://motorbicycling.com/forumdisplay.php?f=13

BTW.....you ever gonna build a 4-stroke biknut? Just curious.

I was thinking there's a big difference between a high performance tip, and a highly modified motor.

If the only thing I could get was a 4 stroke I guess I would build one, but so far I haven't seen a 4 stroke MB I like as much as a china girl.

I'm kind of tired of 4 strokes anyway, that's all I've ever had since I was 15. I consider a 4 stroke a poor candidate for a motor bicycle. The only good reason I've seen for having one is, kits are available with 4 stroke motors that are considered more dependable than a china girl motor. I guess that has a lot of appeal to noobs, and people lacking skills. Aside from that any 4 stroke I can think of either weighs too much, or is too underpowered, or both to make a good MB. I don't want to have to peddle a motorcycle sized bicycle, and if it's never peddled, why not just call it a motorcycle?

A china girl motor is the perfect motor for our purposes. It's lightweight, has capability to make good power, and is very simple to work on. Without much trouble, or expense, they can be made just as dependable as a 4 stroke imho.

But if you happen to know of a 4 stroke that's as light as a china girl, and makes as much power, and doesn't cost $20,000 let me know lol.

That's just my opinion, not meaning to knock anyone's 4 stroke MB experience. I realize everyone likes different stuff, and has different preferences.

$20,000? I've yet to see a Morini or Polini that costs that much.

I see you were deprived of 2-strokes as a growing young man......I lived, eaten and breathed 2-strokes as a child and through my 20's. I've owned many mototcycles in my days and more bicycles than I have hairs on my head. The china girl is just what it's name implies........

Up until I got a china girl, this was the closest thing I had to a motor bicycle. I got an extra motor in my garage if you're interested. It's only a little bigger than the motor in your MB now lol.

Yeah right, a single cylinder of the old Sportster twin (900cc back in the day) is more that double the displacement of my current race bike. Who you trying to fool or impress kid? Not me for sure.

There really does need to be a race specific thread catagory, Race Bikes or not.
I see this part of motorbicycling as some new growth for it's future. Just come to a race event in SoCal and you'll get the picture....the best of the best in show, performance and true innovation......nuff said!

we need more than one race and we should get races in chicago or milwaukee/madison area and another race on the east coast. Coast to coast coverage.
OK.....what's stopping you? We... starts with one person....one person to start or promote races or like events.

Where are you gonna start to talk about racing and getting started on this forum? Cruisers, Mtn. and Road bikes, Trouble Shooting or perhaps 2 Stroke Bicycle Engines & Kits ?

We have a least 9 races schedualed in California alone this year, I think this trend may be growing just a bit......help promote the advancement and growth of Motorized Bicycling in the US, this forum is the best way to do so perhaps.........? It certainly doesn't mean let's go stupid and go NASCAR with racing our little china girls and such, we can keep it fairly simple and fun (and reasonably cheap by the same token). I can see it happening.
