hey riders just wanted to discuss a thread that i have not sure if any one has come up with this before sense i am new to the site have but not a newbie have 4 builds under my belt ok i made my own expansion chamber exhaust like many other builds here and i wanted to experiment with the tipical design with the end bleed tip and wanted to see if it is true that the center bleed design gives you the best torque and mid range so i made a pipe that had both so i would be able to plug them for testing and i have found that having both tips unplugged to give the best results best low end and mid range and top end the pipe gave me the best of both worlds low torque from the center bleed and the top speed from the end bleed got the idea from the way better but over priced boxer bike that have the center bleed pipes dont know if the massive amount of horse power the engines have is it why they have so much torque or is it the gearing but if the guy that makes them cant remember his name now use them its for a reason and i have
found that it works great better that the end bleed sense i have the option of using both i have emailed sike bike parts to see if they would try it out for a new stlye pipe for the fellow riders

It sounds like when my nephew talks about transformers!

But ya post some of your mods I love doing new things to my ride. Next one on my list will most likely be a shift kit. Or maybe just start my next project (Stingray).

Hey Riders! I'm not sure if anyone has come up with a thread like this for discussion before. I'm new to this site, but not a newbie as I've got 4 builds under my belt.

I made my own expansion chamber exhaust like many other builders have done here, and wanted to experiment with the typical design - primarily with the end bleed tip. My goal was to see if it is true that a center bleed design will put the powerband at optimal low end torque and midrange acceleration.

I made a pipe that had both styles of tip so that I would be able to plug and unplug them for testing purposes. I found that having both tips unplugged gave me the best results across the entire throttle range - even top end, which I wasn't expecting!

I got the idea from the better (but overpriced) boxer bikes with center bleed pipes. Though the massive amount of horsepower in the engine and the gearing are a major factor in those bikes, there is still a reason they were used in combination with them - factors or not.

Due to the fact that after this testing I've determined that it does in fact work better than the standard end bleed expansion chamber exhaust systems, I sent an email to Sick Bike Parts to see if they would try it out for a new style pipe to offer to fellow riders.

So I checked out the pictures in your album. Did ya see a good performance boost over your old setup? Hav you compared it to other banana style expansion chambers?
