Re: Just bought 4 stroke Chinese frame mount kit

I had over 500 miles each on two different bushed engines and they were/are fine.

Re: Just bought 4 stroke Chinese frame mount kit

I have a spare 3 hole sprocket plate that I'd be happy to send you. PM me with your address if you are still looking for one. I can also photocopy the instructions that came with mine. They aren't the best instructions, but they cover the basics.

Hint: If you contact the folks at bicycle-engines.com, and let them know you ordered the kit from Revolutions and are having issues, they may help you out. They supply Revolutions with some if not all his kits.

Believe it or not, it's is all worth the effort:)

Re: Just bought 4 stroke Chinese frame mount kit

Sorry, I thought you had a 2-stroke too, we'll still try to help where we can. I am courious about this engine also.

The mount for the wheel should be the same as the 2-stroke type, one thing I noticed this in your original post:

. Next, I find the sprocket kit only has 2 half moon clips when there should be 3. And one of the round rubber spacers had 2 big chunks gone out of it.

There are two diffrent types of plates for mounting the sprocket, one set is a 2-piece that is two half circles, and the other is a 3-piece in thirds. I have recieved kits with either of these types or both. When I can I use both layers pf plates layered so that there are no seams to the rubber and everything tightens down more evenly. For the rubber spacers, do you have the solid black rubber or are they cut out of old tires? The solid rubber is junk and crumbles over a short period of time, the tire ones are much more durable and I have never had a problem with them...Kelly
The rubber is the rag type rubber. Didn't know they even made a cheapy version of these things. I was told that the chunks cut out of one of them won't affect the setup when tightened down. I'll assume that with the metal half moon plates, one kit out floating around has 3 short ones and another kit has 2 longer ones instead of one kit having 5 total plates. I've been told 2 different stories on this matter. It does make sense that after you put the 3 plates, then you put the 2 longer ones over the seams in the 3 shorter ones for added rigidity. But who knows?

I still haven't been able to locate anyone that sells the engine mount.

Re: Just bought 4 stroke Chinese frame mount kit

I think i would look at making one. If you can that is...
I'd probably have to have it done and I don't want to complicate things that much when I know there are probably piles of the engine mounts out there somewhere, it's just a matter of finding a dealer that will actually sell one. Some of the better known dealers don't even answer emails, so it's easy to get stuck fast.

Hi Squid,

I found the mounting plate you are looking for. Here's the website:

V-Frame Mounting Plate Kit - $49.99
The price is a bit steep...$49.99.

Good luck!

Re: Just bought 4 stroke Chinese frame mount kit

It can't be too tough to make one....it doesn't have to be just like the one pictured. A decent machinist or fabrication shop could whip one up for a lot less than 50 bucks.

Re: Just bought 4 stroke Chinese frame mount kit

Yeah, I'm looking at mine and so long as you have the bike you want to mount the motor to, a base plate should be pretty easy to fab. Plus, a custom mount would look a heck of a lot better than the standard kit mount.

Several members on this forum have made custom mounts for their 4 strokers. Maybe one of these guys will pass his unused mount to you.

Good luck!

I bought the fourstroke kit from the same dealer last Feb., including the grubee gearbox. The clutch main gear casing split open and when I made the dealer aware of this he offered to replace the gear box as soon as he recieved a new shipment from grubee in china. That was in March and was the last I heard from the seller until I emailed him again in June (07). I got no response so began emailing him daily. I also called his customer service line twice daily for the next two months only to recieve his message assuring me of his willingness to help. In August I saw that he was selling the gear boxes on his site yet hadn't replaced mine. I renewed my email onslaught and finally recieved my new gearbox, only having to pay the shipping costs. It seems that persistence verging on harassment is the way to get him to respond. The bright side is that my fourstroke now runs and is fast, not as much low end as my two strokes but fast on the flats smooth and relatively quiet. Keep bugging him and he should make things right. Good luck and oh yeah, my top speed with a 44 tooth sprocket so far is 37 mph

Yikes !!

Yikes !! anyone else with similar experience with this seller? Maybe it was a fluke with this seller.Believe me, this is not true with all sellers. I make sure our company and people respond in a timely manner. We have a money back guarantee . We service what we sell and we sell service !! Thanks..Enjoy the ride...

I'm not defending the seller, but I think I know who you are talking about, I heard he is out of town alot. but then again you got to be a good business man to stay in business.Treat your customers fairly and in a timely manor.

Norman- my boss treats people unfairly and in a crappy/rude manor, not to mention very sloooow delivery times and he has business practicaly running through the door to buy stuff.

I don't get it....business in America.

He is a lucky man. I wonder if he would change his ways if business would pick up even more? I don't like being mistreated and if I can I will get even instead of mad.
I'm ornery

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. I finally got an adjustable engine mount. Motor started up easily. Gearbox stripped a gear :-|| :-||

If you get this gearbox, you've got trouble.

Sorry to any of you guys that get upset for me posting my bike engine troubles. I'd like to sic Lord Vader on this dude, but that's not possible, so I just make sure everyone knows about the ripoff artists out there.
I've thought about getting DAX's Titan rack mount kit but I've spent so much money already. It would be cool if good old DAX would give me a good trade-in on this brand new Hua Sheng 4-stroke engine. I'm getting tired of having nothing to ride but this Ezip with its 8 mile range. I wanna smell some gas fumes and be able to ride on the road instead of the shoulder or ditch.
