thank you for the kind words.

goat herder- the frame is not a Dyno it's possible it is a dyno copy. the Dyno has horizontal dropouts mine doesn't, I wish it did it would have made my life a little easier. the frame was from "oldguysbike.com" found it on CL. steel

chainmaker- clean was a main design point that I wanted through out this project. Although I love the look of the seat my butt doesn't like it so much, I rode for 30 min yesterday and it still is sore. I'm not going to change the seat, just teach my bottom to like it. it's a Brooks B17 competition road seat.

Thanks. Well shoot more looking. I was staring at the rear wheel mounts. That's something I was figuring re welding and converting to drop out style.lol

Brooks seats are like that, especially the skinnier, road bike seats. once they break in, and your butt gets used to them, there's no other seat like them.

i use wider ones, though. i have a B66S which is a ladies spring cruiser seat, and a B72 on another bike. both of them are hard, yet i can ride all day with no problems, and they're waaay more comfy than the best big padded rubber or vinyl cruiser seats i've had.

since I'm going to continue with the break in today I thought I'd post the 'almost' final pics. I still have to build the rear wheel as money permits, but this coaster brake will do for now.

when I was building the bike I had a few points to keep in mind.
1. make it as clean possible
2. use no zip ties
3. drill no holes in the frame
4. everything had a purpose & practical

goat herder- I was thinking about welding horizontal dropouts on but I was ready to ride this thing, and wanted to see how the stock dropouts would work

bairdco- I will continue with the leather seat. I think I will lather the underside with saddle soap hopefully that will quicken the break in. no rubber or vinyl seats on any of my bikes.

I had some extra time today and got the bike completed and took it for a spin around the block. I had a tough time getting it started at first, I checked the gap on the plug and opened it up, put it back in and it fired right up. I had a smile from ear to ear and was getting the thumbs up from the kids around the block, good times

bairdco- my thoughts exactly
motocafe- thanx
Bike monster- the frame was a sample from "oldguysbike.com" the model was called geezer, I should have and kept the label on the frame but it got sanded off. it's basically an overseas import 26" beach cruiser, that had ape hangers.
I was going for the 1970's cafe racer look and the bars are clip ons that attach to each fork leg.

Wow thats pretty cool that the handles are on it...usflg

thank you, so you only run front brakes? I was thinking of using the top hat from Kings and run the sprocket with the rear disc brake. I am not quite sure if I need both brakes, I know it's good to have both, but when I ride my bros. CBR I really don't use the rear brake. but I know if I need it it's there.

Nice tires! I'm running the same ones on my bike, and my brother has the non-striped Hanks. They have some tenacious grip!
thanx, I like the ones with the stripe better. I feel it gives the bike that extra extra, kind of like drilled rotors with Brembo calipers and it gives it that rat quality. I haven't got it leaned over too much but I look forward to it and it's good to know that I can without worrying it will slip from under me
