High School project 0-60 mph/50 miles before charge

Saw this story on tonights local news, except the bike they showed on t.v. was green, the one in this story is white.

It can travel at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour for at least 50 miles before needing a charge and even has safety features such as "crush zones" made from compressible materials.

The next item on the agenda for these innovative students is a solar charging station to make the bike truly carbon free.

One of 16 high schools that received a $10,000 grant from InvenTeams, the team was told to identify a real world problem and invent a practical solution. The motorbike is expected to be displayed at MIT next week.
