spookytooth/schwinn cruiser engine mounting

I am a real new guy and recieved my kit from ST. Took it out of the box and dry fitted it to the schwinn cruiser. The mounts seem to be a long way from my tubes. I need help on this . Thanks bob

The rear mount should be flush up to the seat tube. Then you have to fabricate something to go on the front mount to the down tube.

The way I did it was to get a 4" x 12" x 1/4" hunk of metal from Farm & Fleet. I cut that down to about 4" x 4". Drilled a couple holes to attach it to the front mount on the engine, and a couple of other holes, just a little wider apart, so I could use a muffler clamp around the down tube.

There are a couple of places out there selling mount kits that are similar to this construction, for ten or fifteen bucks, if you don't feel like cutting and drilling - although I don't think the metal plate will be quite as thick.

I have started looking at the different posts and there are alot of options. Nougat, I was not sure which side of the motor got the extension ,thanks. Right now I have it snugged up to the front bar, will change. bob
