Re: spookytooth/schwinn cruiser engine mounting The rear mount should be flush up to the seat tube. Then you have to fabricate something to go on the front mount to the down tube.
The way I did it was to get a 4" x 12" x 1/4" hunk of metal from Farm & Fleet. I cut that down to about 4" x 4". Drilled a couple holes to attach it to the front mount on the engine, and a couple of other holes, just a little wider apart, so I could use a muffler clamp around the down tube.
There are a couple of places out there selling mount kits that are similar to this construction, for ten or fifteen bucks, if you don't feel like cutting and drilling - although I don't think the metal plate will be quite as thick. |
