$2 front mount fix for cruiser frames

Smile $2 front mount fix for cruiser frames

made it this morning out of a $2 hockey-puck and the stock mount in the BGF kit. engine is aligned and rock solid. FWIW Joe

It does not show well in the photo, but the steel adapter plate in the photo is modified. put it in a large vise and used a BFH and a block of wood to bend it lengthwise to match the angle of the down tube.

you could corner the market! LOL hockey-pucks are the machinist secret weapon.( they also make great isolating feet for stationary tools)

Hmmmm..... Use a hole saw to cut the hole in the puck for the frame tube. Use a hack saw to rough shape the outside of it. Finish the outside up with sandpaper.
This sounds doable to me.
Thankyou for sharing your example! Now I know how I am going to do the front mount on mine.

That is simply a BRILLIANT idea. There is nothing better than using a common
item and convert it to such a unique application. I wish I had thought of that!
I spent many frustrating hours trying to figure out a way to rubber mount mine.
I tried all kinds of plumbing parts front end bushings etc., I have a bag of hockey pucks from years of coaching and never gave them a thought. I'm very
impressed. I'm gonna make one this week.

I used a forstner bit, I think a hole saw would bind and overheat in a flexible material. fwiw Joe
