Default How the clutch works?

Howdy,
I've searched, however I could not find . Is there any good explanation regarding the internal workings of the clutch in these motorized bicycle kits. When I pull the lever, what's really happening inside? What parts are contacting what? I'm the kind of guy who doesn't just take things for a fact, I HAVE TO know what's going on inside.

Any help is appreciated .

Thanks,
Vaughan
