We welded a nut and did that on the indian replica and it works well. You might even have a better idea.
I have attached some pics of what I mean. (playing in photo shop).
Also I messed around with the plate idea in PS. Im kinda leaning towards maybe a small number plate. Would a number plate work there? Enough room? What does everyone think? I know its kinda the wrong place for a number plate, but it kinda plays into my road racing days etc and might be a cool fast way to fill the space. | I think that The number plate there is fine, just add another one somewere else |

| | Harley Board Tracker / Halycon update.... Here is the lasted addition to the bike, tension pulley mount/chain guard mount, bottom plate below the motor, rear brake holder. Matt, take notice of the fender I dry fitted on the bike tell me if you like it? If you like the style of it I will add a stay for the rear and mount it. Also check out the handle bars this is the one we talked about. The bottom plate is mounted with tabs so it looks really cool and its removable as well.

| | Re: Harley Board Tracker / Halycon Thanks for the pics chuck. I am in cancun now so i got to be fast. Handle bars are awesome. If we can cut off the flip up part on the end of the fender so ot looks like a straight fender it will work perfect. I hate that harley sportster flip up fender look lol. I like the rest and as usual not sure about th motor plate yet, but no biggie. Looking good! be back around 10/9 with arms sore from catching Tarpon! Nice work!

| | Re: Harley Board Tracker / Halycon I understand, however, they are thicker than 7/8 (standard bike bars) which means that twist grip throttles from bike kits will not fit the outer diameter. The actual size of them is 23.8mm (just a hair under 1") to big. 1" bars are used for big twins like Harley and such. Even 1" motorcycle grip will not fit they are a hair too big so I will be using an internal motorcycle throttle on this bike. Standard bike grips will not even fit. I use stitch on grips because nothing else works. There is a lot of fabrication that has to be done in order to make these work. The neck in the picture is an old junk part that I had to bend open really wide in order to do the mock up. This is why I never mentioned the bars on the forum they are a pain in the butt to make work. The bars I used on my green and cream color bike come from tempe bicycle in Tempe, AZ they are about $45 (Tempe bike 405 W. University 480-446-3033). They are standard 7/8 and will fit all grips and neck and throttles. They just have a different bend. I attached a picture of the bars from my green bike. That might be a better option. Quote:
